Teaching Tip

If you haven’t yet had a debrief about Instructional Strategies you may consider having this debrief reflect on Instructional Strategies used throughout the week and how teachers see using them in their classroom.

(5 minutes) Reflection: Learners and Teachers

  • Facilitator running debrief should be ready with a reflection prompt and discussion prompt
  • Learners reflect on a prompt and talk about the prompt at their tables.

  • During this time, the teaching group reflects on and discusses the prompts they were given when they started planning the lesson.

(19 minutes) Discussion

  • During the share out make sure one facilitator is taking notes in the shared notes doc

  • First, the teaching group responds to the three prompts they were given when they started planning (Choices Advice, Takeaways)

  • Then, the whole group talks about the lesson. Kick off the whole group discussion with your discussion prompt which is connected to the reflection but different from it. This conversation should focus on teachers teaching this lesson in their classroom. Do not let it focus on workshopping the lesson they just saw.
