Scavenger Hunts (35 minutes)

(5 minutes) Set Up

Pairing:

  • Everyone in the room will need a partner. If you have an extra person a group of 3 will also work.
  • Make one partner the "Teacher"
  • Make the other partner the "Student" (if you have 3 people have 2 students)

Sign On to Code.org: Both people will need to sign onto their Code.org account.

Remarks

Note: You both have Verified Teacher Accounts so you will be able to see some of the stuff only teachers can see. That is fine for this demo. We are focused on seeing student work and managing a class which we can do with two teacher accounts. Teachers can be students in another teachers class! Between you and your partner you will get to see how things work from both the teacher and student perspective.

(30 minutes) Scavenger Hunt Tasks

Using the Page 3 in Activity Packet have teachers work together to try out some of the features Code.org has for managing classes.

If they finish one scavenger hunt have them move on to the next one.
