Facilitator Supplies and Prep:

  • Before Workshop
    • Both facilitators should be well versed in all lessons. Consider key things about each lesson that you think a teacher should pay attention to when planning. Have guiding questions to help them think about those key things.
    • Build a check in schedule that makes each facilitator responsible for checking in with the same 4 groups. It’s good to see the same people multiple times, which is easier if you’re splitting the room.

  • The schedules are set up so this sessions at the same time for CSP and CSD. If CSP and CSD cohorts are co-located for the week consider if venue allows bringing together CSP and CSD teachers. If you have to stay in two different rooms you could split half CSP and half CSD in each room so they get to know each other and can share across grades. Talk to your regional partner about what the venue can support and what will be most beneficial for your teachers.
  • If all CSP and CSD teachers from the region will be there, ask that they sit in MIXED GROUPS

    • “Where are we now” - On a piece of chart paper or on the board create a histogram for teachers to add where they are in the curriculum. Reminder teachers to take out their Curriculum Guide as a guide to unit progressions.
    • Question Parking Lot - For people to put up questions they have.
  • Posters ready for Warm up and Check In:
    • “Role of the Teacher” - On a piece of chart paper, create a poster that has the words “Role of the Teacher” written in large letters.
