Welcome and Housekeeping (6 minutes)
Producer Tip
As people join, welcome them. If possible, test their audio/video quickly just by having them say “hi.” Enter links to attendance and the day’s slides in the chat frequently as people join so they can complete the activity.
Producer Tip
Verify that you have the TLO information from the groups presenting today. If you have any questions or did not receive the information, make sure you get the information during the first break
(0 minutes) Attendance
- Have everyone complete the attendance for the day
- There will be a specific link for the day at your workshop
- Check that everyone is marked as present in the online workshop dashboard
Facilitator Tip
Prepare for Gots and Needs ahead of time by using color highlighting to identify patterns, including common tech issues, that you want to point out to participants. During this task, pull up the results from the previous module and share your screen.
(6 minutes) Welcome
Engagement Activity (4 minutes)
Teaching Tip
This is an example of an engagement activity you can do. You are free to choose a different one if you see fit
(4 minutes) Check-In: Mindset Check
Take a quick temperature of the “room” with a mindset check.
- Explain that you want to do a quick mindset check as you prepare to kick off Module 4.
- Describe how the mindset check will work (below).
- Using a shared Google Slide, have participants write one word with a specific focus (suggestions follow). Encourage them to be creative with color and font if it helps convey their mindset, but to stick to 12 point size so everyone's words fit on one slide.
- Give participants 10 seconds.
- Scan the screen for words that jump out at you.
- Ask a few participants to elaborate/give you the why behind their word
Use your perception of where workshop participants are at this stage of the workshop to decide what the focus of the word will be. The following are examples to give you ideas:
- Level of motivation at this stage of the workshop
- Confidence level with CSD
- Comfort level with equity
