Remarks

Thank you for engaging with the discussions and activities throughout the workshop in support of implementing and teaching CS Fundamentals equitably to all of your students.

(8 minutes) Check-out

Remarks

Let’s wrap up the workshop with a “check-out” which is much like the “check-in” at the start of the workshop.

(1 minute) Participants individually reflect on the prompts.

  • Prompt:
    • What emoji or word describes how you feel:
      • about continuing to implement and teach CS Fundamentals.
      • about continuing to support equity in CS because of the workshop.
      • about how you see yourself as a CS teacher.
      • at the end of the workshop.

(7 minutes) Participants respond to one of the prompts either popcorn style and “popping” a turn over by calling on another person to share out next or as a “go-around” by going around the main room and having each participant share responses, one after another.

(2 minutes) Ongoing Learning

Share with participants the on-going learning and support that is available after today’s workshop.

  • Add to the “On-going Learning and Support” slide any local information regarding CS education efforts and organizations
  • Reminder for optional CSF self-paced online PD course

General Wrap Up (10 minutes)

(5 minutes) Question Parking Lot

Facilitator Tip

When answering questions, try to also connect participants with resources that they can use beyond the workshop (teacher forum, shared slides, lesson plans, local CS information, etc.).

Answer any remaining questions in the question parking lot.

(5 minutes) Survey

  • Follow the instructions found in the Facilitator Tools Guide.
    • On the online workshop dashboard find your workshop and close the workshop during the closing of the workshop. Closing the workshop will send an end-of-workshop survey to all participants attending.
    • Make sure all the teachers in your workshop take the survey for the workshop before they leave.

Post Workshop Debrief

Debrief

Debrief the workshop with other facilitators or regional partners (if present) before leaving the venue.

Consider the following questions as part of the debrief process:

  • What went well?
  • What will be improved on in the future?
  • What feedback was provided?
  • Are there any issues, concerns, or suggestions that require follow up?
    • If so, who is going to follow up?
